External Start/Stop Not Closed
Fronius · Perfect Charging
What does 16 mean?
The external start/stop input, which controls the charger's operation, is detected as being in an open state. This condition prevents the charging process from initiating or continuing, as the command to run is not received by the charger.
Common Causes
- The external start/stop button, switch, or safety contact is physically in the open (stop) position.
- A wiring break or loose connection exists in the external start/stop control circuit between the external device and the charger's input terminals.
- A faulty external start/stop relay or contactor is failing to close the circuit when commanded.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the state of the external start/stop switch or button to ensure it is in the closed position (run command active).
- 2
Check the continuity of the wiring for the external start/stop circuit from the external control device to the charger's designated input terminals.
- 3
Inspect any external relays or contactors involved in the start/stop signal path for proper operation and contact integrity.
