Motor Controller Fault
Kone · Elevator Control
What does 104 mean?
A fault has been detected within the motor controller. This is a warning only, indicating a non-critical issue that might escalate if not addressed.
Common Causes
- Internal fault in the motor controller module (e.g., sensor error, minor logic issue).
- Intermittent communication loss with the motor controller.
- Temporary over-current or over-temperature condition.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify incoming supply voltage to the motor controller against specified nominal values at the input terminals.
- 2
Inspect motor power cables and feedback wiring for physical damage, loose connections, and proper shielding or grounding.
- 3
Check motor and drive parameters (e.g., motor nominal current, voltage, speed, acceleration/deceleration ramps) within the controller configuration against the motor nameplate and system specifications.
- 4
Inspect cooling fans and heat sinks on the motor controller for obstructions, dust buildup, and ensure proper operation to maintain adequate heat dissipation.
