52 Drive Forward Coil Fault
Kone · Elevator Control
What does 52 mean?
A fault has been detected in the drive forward coil, indicating an electrical issue with the solenoid responsible for forward motion. This disables both lifting and driving functions.
Common Causes
- Drive forward coil open circuit, short circuit, or high resistance.
- Damaged wiring or loose connections to the drive forward coil.
- Control circuit failure attempting to activate the coil.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the control voltage supply to the drive forward coil circuit at the respective terminals.
- 2
Inspect all wiring and connections to the drive forward coil for looseness, damage, or corrosion.
- 3
Measure the resistance of the drive forward coil across its terminals and compare with specified values (refer to equipment manual) to detect open or short circuits.
- 4
Check the output signal from the elevator control system intended for the drive forward coil during a forward motion command.
