OL

Platform Overloaded

Kone · Elevator Control

What does OL mean?

The platform is severely overloaded, exceeding its maximum rated capacity. This critical condition disables all motion functions to prevent damage or instability.

Common Causes

  • Load on the platform exceeds the maximum allowable weight.
  • Platform overload sensor malfunction, giving a false overload reading.
  • Incorrectly calibrated overload sensor.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the actual load on the platform does not exceed the elevator's specified maximum rated capacity.

  2. 2

Inspect all load weighing sensors (e.g., load cells, pressure sensors) and their associated wiring for physical damage, proper mounting, and secure connections.

  3. 3

Check the input signal from the load weighing system at the Kone Elevator Control unit for plausible values when the platform is empty versus under a known test load.

  4. 4

Verify the 'Overload Threshold' or 'Maximum Rated Capacity' parameters configured in the Kone Elevator Control system match the elevator's nameplate specifications.
