What does UP mean?
The platform has reached its upper limit position. This is a warning only, indicating the normal end-of-travel for the platform.
Common Causes
- Platform has reached the mechanical or programmed upper travel limit.
- Upper limit switch stuck in active position (false detection).
- Obstruction preventing the platform from fully lowering after reaching the limit.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the current commanded position and operational cycle of the elevator to determine if the platform is expected to be at its upper limit.
- 2
Inspect the physical condition, cleanliness, and mechanical actuation of the platform's upper limit switch or sensor.
- 3
Check the wiring integrity and connections from the upper limit sensor/switch to the Kone Elevator Control system for damage, corrosion, or looseness.
- 4
Verify relevant control parameters within the Kone Elevator Control system related to upper travel limits, position thresholds, and delay timers.
- 5
Monitor the real-time status of the upper limit input via the controller diagnostics to confirm accurate signal reception and reset behavior.
