GENERAL MOTION ENABLE
General Motion Enable Lost
Kuka · Industrial Robots Use & Programming
What does GENERAL MOTION ENABLE mean?
The robot's general motion enable signal has been lost, indicating that the drives have been switched off by the higher-level controller. This state stops all robot drives and inhibits all active commands, preventing any further robot movement until the condition is resolved.
Common Causes
- The higher-level controller (PLC) has explicitly de-energized the robot drives.
- The $MOVE_ENABLE signal from the higher-level controller is set to FALSE.
- Interruption or loss of communication for the motion enable signal.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the status of the $MOVE_ENABLE signal from the higher-level controller (e.g., PLC output) and ensure it is TRUE.
- 2
Reset the "GENERAL MOTION ENABLE" message on the smartPAD's message window.
- 3
Send a new external start signal from the higher-level controller to re-enable robot motion.
