PI (Fault during parameter initialisation)
Lenze · 9300 Series
What does 0079 mean?
An error was detected during parameter set transfer between two devices, or the parameter set does not match the controller (e.g., higher-power controller data transferred to lower-power). This prevents proper device initialization.
Common Causes
- Incompatible hardware version or power rating mismatch between the source and target controllers during parameter transfer.
- Transfer of a parameter set from a different product series or family to the current device.
- Software version mismatch between the originating parameter set and the target controller's firmware (C0004).
- Corruption of the parameter data file during transfer from an external tool (e.g., PC software).
- Internal memory write protection enabled or memory failure preventing new parameters from being initialized.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the model number and power rating of the controller against the source of the parameter set to confirm compatibility.
- 2
Check the firmware version (C0004) of the target controller and ensure the parameter set is generated for or compatible with this specific version.
- 3
Attempt to initialize the drive with factory default settings by setting C0003 = 1 and then performing a power cycle.
- 4
Use the manufacturer's dedicated software (e.g., Lenze Engineer) to create a new parameter set specifically for the target controller and its firmware.
- 5
Inspect the communication interface (e.g., Ethernet, USB cable) used for parameter transfer for damage or loose connections.
