What does 079 mean?
A fault occurred during parameter initialization, likely during parameter set transfer between two devices, or because the parameter set does not match the controller (e.g., from a higher-power controller to a lower-power one).
Common Causes
- Incompatibility between the loaded parameter set and the specific drive hardware or firmware version.
- Attempting to load a parameter set from a higher power rated drive into a lower rated drive, or vice versa, leading to range errors.
- Incomplete or interrupted parameter transfer due to communication error or premature power cycle.
- Internal non-volatile memory (EEPROM) write error within the drive during parameter storage.
- Incorrect selection of the parameter set to be activated (e.g., attempting to activate a non-existent set).
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
1. Perform a factory reset (e.g., Parameter C0004 = 1) to clear existing parameters, then restart the drive.
- 2
2. Ensure the correct parameter set, matching the drive's model and firmware revision, is used for upload.
- 3
3. Re-attempt the parameter transfer from a verified, compatible source using a stable communication link.
- 4
4. Manually configure essential parameters (e.g., motor data, min/max frequency) via the keypad and save them to a new parameter set.
- 5
5. Verify that no parameters are being written with values outside their permissible range during the transfer.
