Error "negative position limit".
Lenze · 9300 Series
What does 154 mean?
The negative position limit (C1224) was not reached, potentially due to incorrect position targets or issues with the 'set function position value'. This can prevent the drive from reaching its intended negative travel extreme.
Common Causes
- The commanded position target from the master controller or internal program is beyond the configured negative position limit (Parameter C1224).
- The 'set function position value' command was issued with an incorrect reference offset, effectively shifting the coordinate system beyond the negative limit.
- Inaccurate homing procedure, establishing a reference point that is too close to, or already beyond, the negative position limit.
- Mechanical obstruction or physical stop preventing the drive from reaching the desired negative position within the software limits.
- Logic error in the PLC or master controller sending an invalid negative position command to the drive.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
1. Review the commanded target position in the PLC program or HMI and compare it to the drive's negative position limit (Parameter C1224).
- 2
2. Check the 'set function position value' (if used) in the application program to ensure the reference offset is valid and within the defined travel range.
- 3
3. Re-perform the homing sequence to establish an accurate zero reference point. Monitor actual position (P5-04) during homing to confirm correctness.
- 4
4. Temporarily increase the negative position limit (Parameter C1224) to allow manual jogging, then precisely define the mechanical hard stop and set C1224 slightly above it.
- 5
5. Use the drive's monitoring tools (e.g., P5-04, P5-05) to track actual and commanded positions leading up to the fault.
