OH3
Motor overtemperature (+150°C)
Lenze · 9300 Series
What does OH3 mean?
The motor temperature, detected via resolver or incremental encoder, has exceeded +150°C. This signifies severe thermal overload due to impermissible continuous current or frequent/prolonged acceleration processes. A missing PTC/temperature contact can also prevent proper monitoring.
Common Causes
- Motor temperature sensor reading exceeds +150°C, indicating severe overheating.
- Motor winding insulation is at risk of damage due to extreme temperature.
- Sustained operation under very high load conditions or stalled state.
- Failure of motor cooling system (fan, airflow).
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check drive dimensioning to ensure the motor is not continuously overloaded.
- 2
Correct wiring if no PTC/temperature contact is connected to enable proper temperature sensing.
- 3
Switch off monitoring by setting C0583 = 3.
