E.OHT

Ext TH relay oper

Mitsubishi Electric · Mitsubishi FR-E800 Variable Frequency Drive

What does E.OHT mean?

The inverter output is shut off because an external thermal relay (for motor overheat protection) or an internally mounted motor thermal relay has activated (contacts open). This protective shutdown prevents motor damage from excessive temperature, and is active when '7' (OH signal) is assigned to Pr.178-Pr.184.

Common Causes

  • External thermal relay operated.
  • An external overload protection device has tripped.
  • Motor overheating detected by external sensor.
  • Wiring fault to the external thermal relay.
  • External control signal indicating thermal trip.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check for motor overheating; reduce the load and/or operation duty if necessary.

  2. 2

Verify that the OH signal (value '7') is correctly assigned to one of the input terminal function selection parameters (Pr.178 to Pr.184).

  3. 3

Reset the inverter after the thermal relay contacts close; the inverter will not restart automatically until reset.
