GF
Ground Fault
Yaskawa · iQpump1000 AC Drive
What does GF mean?
A current short to ground exceeding 50% of rated current has been detected on the output side of the drive. This fault is enabled when L8-09 is set to 1. Persistent ground faults can indicate severe motor or cable damage.
Common Causes
- Motor insulation is damaged.
- Damaged motor cable creating a short circuit.
- Excessive leakage current at the drive output.
- Drive started during a current offset fault or while coasting to a stop.
- Hardware problem with the control board.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check the insulation resistance of the motor.
- 2
Inspect the motor cable for damage, remove any short circuits, and verify resistance between cable and ground terminal.
- 3
Reduce the carrier frequency if excessive leakage current is detected.
- 4
Reduce the amount of stray capacitance.
- 5
Set parameter b3-01 to 1 to enable Speed Search at Start.
- 6
Perform Speed Search 1 or 2 (H1-oo = 61 or 62) via one of the external terminals.
