Target position out of num. range
Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive C Drive Controllers
What does E2064 mean?
The commanded target position or the internal position calculation has exceeded the numerical range supported by the drive controller. This can happen with extremely large position values or incorrect scaling.
Common Causes
- Programmed target position exceeds the drive's internal numerical representation limits (e.g., 32-bit or 64-bit limits).
- Incorrect scaling factors or gear ratios leading to excessively large internal position values.
- Runaway or uncontrolled motion causing the actual position to exceed its numerical limits.
- Faulty encoder or position feedback generating erroneous large values.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the commanded target position and application scaling factors to ensure they do not result in values exceeding the drive's numerical limits.
- 2
Check the position feedback system, including encoder cabling and scaling, for correct operation and accurate reporting.
- 3
Inspect the mechanical system for any uncontrolled motion or runaway conditions that could lead to extreme position values.
- 4
If using a modulo axis, verify the modulo value and ensure it is configured correctly.
