Encoder 1: encoder signals disturbed
Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive C Drive Controllers
What does E2074 mean?
Signals from encoder 1 are intermittent, noisy, or outside expected parameters, indicating a communication issue or a faulty encoder. This can lead to inaccurate position/velocity feedback and control instability.
Common Causes
- Loose, damaged, or improperly shielded encoder cabling.
- Electrical noise or interference affecting the encoder signals.
- Faulty encoder hardware or sensor components.
- Incorrect wiring or termination of the encoder signals.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Inspect the cabling for encoder 1 for physical damage, proper shielding, and secure connections at both the encoder and the drive.
- 2
Check for sources of electrical noise near the encoder cable, such as power cables, contactors, or VFDs, and ensure proper separation and grounding.
- 3
Verify the encoder's power supply voltage at the encoder terminals.
- 4
If possible, perform an encoder diagnostic test through the drive's interface to check signal integrity. Consider replacing the encoder if signals remain disturbed.
