F2019

Motor overtemperature shutdown

Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive C Drive Controllers

What does F2019 mean?

The motor has reached a critical temperature threshold, triggering a safety shutdown to prevent damage to its windings or insulation. This is a severe thermal event.

Common Causes

  • Motor running at excessive load for extended periods.
  • Inadequate motor cooling due to blocked vents, fan failure, or high ambient temperature.
  • Incorrect motor thermal model parameters in the drive.
  • Faulty motor temperature sensor or wiring leading to false readings.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Allow the motor to cool down completely before attempting to reset the fault. Do not attempt to operate the motor immediately.

  2. 2

Check the mechanical load on the motor and ensure it is within specified limits for continuous operation.

  3. 3

Verify the motor's cooling system (fans, fins) is clean and functioning correctly. Ensure adequate airflow around the motor.

  4. 4

Inspect motor cabling and temperature sensor wiring for damage or loose terminals. Measure the resistance of the motor's temperature sensor (e.g., PTC/KTY/PT1000) and compare to expected values.
