Motor temperature monitor defective
Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive C Drive Controllers
What does F2021 mean?
The drive has detected a fault in the motor temperature monitoring circuit or sensor. This means the drive cannot reliably protect the motor from overheating.
Common Causes
- Open circuit or short circuit in the motor temperature sensor wiring.
- Faulty motor temperature sensor (e.g., PTC thermistor, KTY sensor).
- Incorrect type of temperature sensor selected in drive parameters.
- Damage to the drive's internal temperature monitoring input circuit.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Inspect the motor temperature sensor wiring for continuity, short circuits, and secure connections at both the motor and drive terminals.
- 2
Measure the resistance of the motor temperature sensor directly at the motor and then at the drive input terminals to check cable integrity. Compare with the sensor's characteristic curve.
- 3
Verify that the drive parameter for the motor temperature sensor type is correctly configured for the installed sensor (e.g., PTC, KTY84).
- 4
If the sensor and wiring are confirmed good, the issue may lie within the drive's temperature monitoring circuit.
