F2175

Loss of optional encoder reference

Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive MPx02

What does F2175 mean?

The drive has lost the reference signal from an optional encoder. This optional encoder provides additional feedback, perhaps for a secondary axis, master axis, or external position measurement. Loss of this reference will compromise the accuracy and synchronization of the system relying on this feedback, potentially leading to operational faults.

Common Causes

  • Damaged optional encoder cable or connector
  • Defective optional encoder hardware
  • Severe electrical noise interfering with optional encoder signals
  • Loose optional encoder mounting
  • Incorrect parameter configuration for the optional encoder

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the optional encoder cable for physical damage, proper shielding, and verify secure connections at both the encoder and the IndraDrive MPx02 input module.

  2. 2

Measure the supply voltage at the optional encoder power input terminals to confirm it is within the encoder's specified operating range.

  3. 3

Verify the drive parameters configured for the optional encoder (e.g., encoder type, resolution, input assignment) match the actual installed encoder and system requirements.

  4. 4

Check the continuity of each signal wire within the optional encoder cable from the encoder connector to the corresponding IndraDrive input terminal using a multimeter to detect any breaks.
