DC bus balancing monitor error
Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive MPx02
What does F2836 mean?
An error has been detected by the DC bus balancing monitor. This system ensures that the voltage across series-connected DC bus capacitors remains balanced. An imbalance can indicate a faulty capacitor, a problem with the balancing resistors, or an issue with the monitoring circuit itself, potentially leading to capacitor overvoltage and failure.
Common Causes
- Defective DC bus capacitor (e.g., increased ESR)
- Faulty balancing resistors across DC bus capacitors
- Problem with the DC bus voltage measurement circuitry
- Interference affecting the balancing monitor's readings
- Internal hardware fault in the balancing circuit
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify drive parameters related to DC bus configuration and monitoring via the IndraDrive HMI or software.
- 2
Measure incoming AC supply phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground voltages at the drive input terminals to confirm stability, balance, and adherence to specifications.
- 3
Inspect all external DC bus connections (if applicable in multi-axis setups or with external braking units) for proper seating, torque, and signs of damage or corrosion.
- 4
Monitor the overall DC bus voltage and current values using the drive's diagnostic interface to observe for instability or deviations from expected levels under various load conditions.
