ACS880 · Primary Control Program Firmware
The ACS880 drive tripped due to a detected earth fault or current unbalance in the motor or the motor cable. This indicates a significant leakage current to ground, posing a safety risk and potential equipment damage.
Click steps to track your progress.
Immediately de-energize and lock out the drive and associated machinery.
Visually inspect all motor power cables for any visible damage, cuts, or abrasion to the insulation.
Check motor and drive terminal connections for proper torque and the absence of foreign material, moisture, or dirt.
Measure insulation resistance between each motor phase and ground using a megger (e.g., 500VDC) to pinpoint the exact location of the earth fault (motor or cable).
If the fault is in the motor, consider motor repair or replacement. If in the cable, replace or repair the cable.
Verify parameter 31.20 Earth fault is configured correctly; if it was set to 'Fault', ensure the underlying issue is resolved before attempting a reset.
