24EXT

Emergency Stop Circuit 24V Fault

Fanuc · R-30iB Mate + Mate Plus Robot

What does 24EXT mean?

The 24EXT (Red) LED turning on indicates that the fuse (FUSE2) is blown, and the 24V external power supply (24EXT) for the emergency stop circuit is not being supplied. This impacts the integrity and functionality of the emergency stop line, posing a safety risk.

Common Causes

  • External 24VDC power supply failure for the emergency stop circuit.
  • Fuse blown in the external 24VDC emergency stop circuit.
  • Wiring fault in the 24VDC emergency stop loop.
  • Short circuit within the emergency stop circuit powered by 24VDC.
  • Faulty safety relay or contactor in the 24VDC E-stop circuit.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

If the fuse (FUSE2) has not blown, check the voltage between EXT24V and EXT0V at TBOP19. If no external power supply is used, check the jumper pin between EXT24V and INT24V or between EXT0V and INT0V.

  2. 2

Check the 24EXT (emergency stop line) for a short circuit or connection to ground.

  3. 3

    Replace the emergency stop board.

  4. 4

Check the teach pendant for faults and replace if required.
