An error was detected during the quadrant check for the sine encoder (Encoder 2), indicating a problem with signal integrity or phase relationship. This can be caused by wiring issues, EMC interference, or a defective encoder, leading to incorrect position feedback.
Click steps to track your progress.
Using a dual-trace oscilloscope, display the differential Sin+ to Sin- and Cos+ to Cos- signals from Encoder 2 simultaneously at terminal X2 and measure their phase relationship.
Inspect the Encoder 2 cable for any signs of pinching, crushing, or damage to the internal insulation that could cause crosstalk.
Power down the drive and measure the insulation resistance between the Sin+ and Cos+ lines (and their respective - lines) in the Encoder 2 cable.
Temporarily swap Encoder 2 with a known-good, identical encoder to determine if the fault is encoder-specific.
Verify the encoder type and signal processing parameters (e.g., P3-50) in the drive are correctly configured for a sine encoder.
