SEW Eurodrive · MOVIDRIVE system
A ground fault has been detected, which could be located in the motor leads, the inverter itself, or within the motor windings. This fault presents a significant electrical safety hazard and can cause extensive damage to equipment if not immediately addressed.
Click steps to track your progress.
Disconnect the motor cable from the drive's output terminals (U, V, W). Perform a megohmmeter (megger) test from each drive output phase (U, V, W) to the drive's protective earth (PE) terminal.
With the motor cable still disconnected from the drive, megger the motor cable from each conductor (U, V, W) to its shield/ground connection.
At the motor, disconnect the motor leads and megger each winding (U, V, W) to the motor frame (PE connection point) at 500VDC or 1000VDC.
Visually inspect the drive's output terminals for signs of contamination, moisture, or foreign objects that could bridge to ground.
Verify the proper grounding connections of the drive chassis and motor frame to the plant's main protective earth system using a continuity tester.
