F35208

TM120/TM150 Temperature Fault Channel 1

Siemens · SINAMICS S120/S150 Reference List

What does F35208 mean?

This fault is triggered when the actual temperature (r4105[1]) for channel 1 on the Terminal Module 120 (TM120) or Terminal Module 150 (TM150) exceeds its configured fault threshold (p4102[3]), or if an associated timer (p4103[1]) expires. If a BICO interconnection exists, this fault will cause the drive to shut down. The fault will persist until the temperature falls below the threshold (minus hysteresis) and is acknowledged.

Common Causes

  • Elevated ambient temperature within the control cabinet where the TM120/TM150 module resides, impacting channel 1's monitored component.
  • Overload condition of the equipment monitored by channel 1, resulting in excessive heat generation beyond design specifications.
  • Defective temperature sensor connected to channel 1, causing r4105[1] to report a falsely high temperature.
  • Inadequate cooling or restricted airflow to the TM120/TM150 module or the component monitored by channel 1.
  • Parameter p4102[3] (Temperature fault threshold channel 1) configured below the safe and expected operating temperature range.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Confirm the actual temperature of the component monitored by channel 1 using an independent temperature measurement device and compare it to r4105[1].

  2. 2

Clean any dust or debris from cooling fans, filters, and heat sinks related to the TM120/TM150 module and the equipment on channel 1.

  3. 3

Examine the wiring and terminal connections of the temperature sensor for channel 1 at the TM120/TM150 module for proper seating and absence of damage.

  4. 4

Assess the current operational load and process settings to identify potential causes of overheating on the component monitored by channel 1.

  5. 5

If the physical temperature is normal but r4105[1] shows an elevated reading, proceed with replacing the temperature sensor on channel 1.

  6. 6

Adjust parameter p4102[3] (Fault threshold channel 1) to a higher, safe value if it is determined to be set too aggressively for normal operating conditions.
