F35210

TM120/TM150 Temperature Fault Channel 3

Siemens · SINAMICS S120/S150 Reference List

What does F35210 mean?

This fault is triggered when the actual temperature (r4105[3]) for channel 3 on the Terminal Module 120 (TM120) or Terminal Module 150 (TM150) exceeds its configured fault threshold (p4102[7]), or if an associated timer (p4103[3]) expires. If a BICO interconnection exists, this fault will cause the drive to shut down. The fault will persist until the temperature falls below the threshold (minus hysteresis) and is acknowledged.

Common Causes

  • Operating the monitored component (e.g., motor, bearing) on channel 3 under continuous overload conditions, causing its temperature to rise excessively.
  • Inadequate ambient cooling within the enclosure or directly around the TM120/TM150 module and the associated equipment.
  • Temperature sensor fault on channel 3, providing an erroneously high reading to r4105[3].
  • Blocked air filters or a malfunctioning fan in the cooling system for the equipment monitored by channel 3.
  • The configured fault threshold p4102[7] (Temperature fault threshold channel 3) is too low for the application's required operating range.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Use a calibrated external temperature probe to measure the actual temperature of the component monitored by channel 3 and compare it to r4105[3].

  2. 2

Inspect all cooling components, including fans and heat sinks, for the TM120/TM150 module and the equipment on channel 3, ensuring they are clean and functional.

  3. 3

Examine the cabling from the temperature sensor on channel 3 to the TM120/TM150 module for any signs of damage, shorts, or loose connections.

  4. 4

Analyze the machine's load profile and operating parameters to determine if the equipment on channel 3 is consistently operating at or above its rated capacity.

  5. 5

If the measured temperature is within acceptable limits but r4105[3] indicates a fault, replace the temperature sensor for channel 3.

  6. 6

If operational analysis justifies it, adjust parameter p4102[7] (Fault threshold channel 3) to a higher value that ensures both safety and continuous operation within expected limits.
