F35400

TM150 Temperature Fault Channel 4

Siemens · SINAMICS S120/S150 Reference List

What does F35400 mean?

This fault is triggered when the actual temperature (r4105[4]) for channel 4 on the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) exceeds its configured fault threshold (p4102[9]), or if an associated timer (p4103[4]) expires. If a BICO interconnection exists, this fault will cause the drive to shut down. The fault will persist until the temperature falls below the threshold (minus hysteresis) and is acknowledged.

Common Causes

  • The component connected to TM150 channel 4 is experiencing a sustained overload, causing its temperature to surpass design limits.
  • High ambient temperature surrounding the TM150 module or the monitored equipment, hindering efficient heat dissipation.
  • Failure or significant degradation of the temperature sensor on channel 4, resulting in an inaccurate, high r4105[4] reading.
  • Blocked cooling fins or a non-functional fan dedicated to cooling the TM150 module or the equipment monitored by channel 4.
  • Parameter p4102[9] (Temperature fault threshold channel 4) is set improperly low for the actual operating environment or component.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure the actual operating temperature of the component monitored by channel 4 using a calibrated external device and compare it with r4105[4].

  2. 2

Inspect and clean any cooling fans, filters, and heat sinks associated with the TM150 module and the equipment on channel 4.

  3. 3

Verify the integrity and connection of the temperature sensor wiring for channel 4 from the sensor to the TM150 module.

  4. 4

Review the process load and operating cycle of the equipment connected to channel 4 to identify if it is exceeding its thermal capacity.

  5. 5

If the physical temperature is normal but r4105[4] indicates high, replace the temperature sensor connected to TM150 channel 4.

  6. 6

If analysis confirms safe operational temperatures are higher than the threshold, adjust parameter p4102[9] (Fault threshold channel 4) to an appropriate, safer value.
