F35401

TM150 Temperature Fault Channel 5

Siemens · SINAMICS S120/S150 Reference List

What does F35401 mean?

This fault is triggered when the actual temperature (r4105[5]) for channel 5 on the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) exceeds its configured fault threshold (p4102[11]), or if an associated timer (p4103[5]) expires. If a BICO interconnection exists, this fault will cause the drive to shut down. The fault will persist until the temperature falls below the threshold (minus hysteresis) and is acknowledged.

Common Causes

  • Excessive thermal load on the component connected to TM150 channel 5, leading to its temperature exceeding the fault limit.
  • Inadequate ventilation or elevated ambient temperature in the vicinity of the TM150 module or the equipment on channel 5.
  • A faulty temperature sensor on channel 5, which reports an erroneously high temperature value for r4105[5].
  • Clogged heat sinks or malfunctioning cooling apparatus for the equipment monitored by TM150 channel 5.
  • The configured fault threshold p4102[11] (Temperature fault threshold channel 5) is set below the safe operational maximum for the component.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Use an independent thermal measurement device to check the actual temperature of the component on channel 5, comparing it with r4105[5].

  2. 2

Clean all air vents, filters, and heat exchange surfaces of the TM150 module and the associated equipment on channel 5.

  3. 3

Examine the wiring connections for the temperature sensor on channel 5 for any loose terminals, corrosion, or damage.

  4. 4

Assess the current operational parameters and load conditions to determine if the equipment on channel 5 is being thermally overstressed.

  5. 5

If the actual temperature is within limits but r4105[5] is high, replace the temperature sensor connected to TM150 channel 5.

  6. 6

If justified by operational data, increase parameter p4102[11] (Fault threshold channel 5) to a setting that aligns with the component's safe operating envelope.
