F35404

TM150 Temperature Fault Channel 8

Siemens · SINAMICS S120/S150 Reference List

What does F35404 mean?

This fault is triggered when the actual temperature (r4105[8]) for channel 8 on the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) exceeds its configured fault threshold (p4102[17]), or if an associated timer (p4103[8]) expires. If a BICO interconnection exists, this fault will cause the drive to shut down. The fault will persist until the temperature falls below the threshold (minus hysteresis) and is acknowledged.

Common Causes

  • Excessive heat generation from the component connected to TM150 channel 8, indicating a potential mechanical issue or electrical overload.
  • Higher-than-acceptable ambient temperature inside the control enclosure affecting the TM150 module's and monitored equipment's thermal performance.
  • A defective temperature sensor on channel 8 that is providing a false high reading for r4105[8].
  • Improperly functioning cooling components (e.g., fan failure, blocked airflow) for the TM150 module or the equipment on channel 8.
  • Parameter p4102[17] (Temperature fault threshold channel 8) set to an unrealistically low value for the monitored equipment's operating range.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Use an independent, calibrated temperature probe to verify the actual temperature of the component on channel 8, cross-referencing r4105[8].

  2. 2

Check all cooling components like fans, vents, and heat sinks on the TM150 module and the equipment on channel 8 for cleanliness and functionality.

  3. 3

Inspect the wiring connections for the temperature sensor on channel 8 at the TM150 module for any loose terminals or signs of damage.

  4. 4

Review the recent operational history and load of the component connected to channel 8 to identify any conditions that could cause overheating.

  5. 5

If the component's measured temperature is normal but r4105[8] indicates high, replace the temperature sensor connected to TM150 channel 8.

  6. 6

If an engineering assessment deems it appropriate, increase parameter p4102[17] (Fault threshold channel 8) to a level that safely accommodates normal operation.
