F35405

TM150 Temperature Fault Channel 9

Siemens · SINAMICS S120/S150 Reference List

What does F35405 mean?

This fault is triggered when the actual temperature (r4105[9]) for channel 9 on the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) exceeds its configured fault threshold (p4102[19]), or if an associated timer (p4103[9]) expires. If a BICO interconnection exists, this fault will cause the drive to shut down. The fault will persist until the temperature falls below the threshold (minus hysteresis) and is acknowledged.

Common Causes

  • Thermal overload on the equipment monitored by TM150 channel 9 due to sustained operation at or above its maximum rated capacity.
  • Elevated ambient temperature within the cabinet, or localized hot spots impacting the TM150 module or the component on channel 9.
  • A faulty temperature sensor on channel 9 that is incorrectly reporting an excessive temperature for r4105[9].
  • Ineffective or compromised cooling system (e.g., blocked fins, worn-out fan) for the TM150 module or the component monitored by channel 9.
  • Parameter p4102[19] (Temperature fault threshold channel 9) is set too low for the typical operating conditions of the connected equipment.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure the actual surface temperature of the component on channel 9 using an accurate external device and compare it to r4105[9].

  2. 2

Clean all cooling surfaces, filters, and ensure proper function of cooling fans for the TM150 module and the equipment on channel 9.

  3. 3

Perform a thorough inspection of the temperature sensor wiring for channel 9, checking for continuity, shorts, or poor connections to the TM150.

  4. 4

Analyze the operational load and duty cycle of the equipment on channel 9 to confirm it is operating within design specifications.

  5. 5

If the actual temperature is confirmed safe but r4105[9] is high, replace the temperature sensor connected to TM150 channel 9.

  6. 6

If operational conditions justify, adjust parameter p4102[19] (Fault threshold channel 9) to a value that provides sufficient safety margin for the component.
