F35406

TM150 Temperature Fault Channel 10

Siemens · SINAMICS S120/S150 Reference List

What does F35406 mean?

This fault is triggered when the actual temperature (r4105[10]) for channel 10 on the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) exceeds its configured fault threshold (p4102[21]), or if an associated timer (p4103[10]) expires. If a BICO interconnection exists, this fault will cause the drive to shut down. The fault will persist until the temperature falls below the threshold (minus hysteresis) and is acknowledged.

Common Causes

  • The equipment connected to TM150 channel 10 is operating under extreme load, causing its temperature to rise above the maximum safe limit.
  • Poor ventilation in the control cabinet or high ambient temperatures hindering the cooling of the TM150 module or the component on channel 10.
  • A malfunctioning temperature sensor on channel 10, which provides an erroneous high temperature reading for r4105[10].
  • Accumulated dust, debris, or a failed cooling fan severely impeding heat dissipation from the TM150 module or the equipment on channel 10.
  • The fault threshold parameter p4102[21] (Temperature fault threshold channel 10) is set too stringently for the application's requirements.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the actual temperature of the component monitored by channel 10 using a calibrated external temperature sensor and compare it with r4105[10].

  2. 2

Thoroughly clean all cooling components, including fans, air filters, and heat sinks, for the TM150 module and the equipment on channel 10.

  3. 3

Check the wiring and terminal connections of the temperature sensor for channel 10 at the TM150 module for any damage or looseness.

  4. 4

Evaluate the load profile and operational parameters of the equipment on channel 10 to ensure it is not exceeding its rated thermal capacity.

  5. 5

If the measured temperature is within safe limits but r4105[10] is high, replace the temperature sensor connected to TM150 channel 10.

  6. 6

If justified by a comprehensive review of the application, adjust parameter p4102[21] (Fault threshold channel 10) to a value consistent with safe, sustained operation.
