TM150 Temperature Fault Channel 11

Siemens · SINAMICS S120/S150 Reference List

What does F35407 mean?

This fault is triggered when the actual temperature (r4105[11]) for channel 11 on the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) exceeds its configured fault threshold (p4102[23]), or if an associated timer (p4103[11]) expires. If a BICO interconnection exists, this fault will cause the drive to shut down. The fault will persist until the temperature falls below the threshold (minus hysteresis) and is acknowledged.

Common Causes

  • Overheating of the monitored component connected to channel 11 due to excessive load or inadequate cooling (e.g., fan failure, blocked heatsink).
  • Incorrectly configured fault threshold p4102[23] set too low for the application's normal operating temperature range.
  • Faulty temperature sensor (e.g., Pt100, KTY84) connected to TM150 channel 11, providing an erroneous high temperature reading.
  • Loose or high-resistance connection at the TM150 terminal for channel 11, causing an offset in the sensor signal.
  • Internal fault within the TM150 module affecting the processing of channel 11's temperature input.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Measure the actual temperature of the component connected to TM150 channel 11 using an independent calibrated thermometer.

  2. 2

    2. Verify the configured fault threshold p4102[23] in the drive parameters against the component's maximum allowable temperature specification.

  3. 3

    3. Disconnect the temperature sensor from TM150 channel 11 and measure its resistance value; compare it with the sensor's datasheet at ambient temperature.

  4. 4

    4. Check terminal connections X1.11 to X1.12 (typical for channel 11) on the TM150 module for proper seating and torque (e.g., 0.5 Nm).

  5. 5

    5. Monitor the raw temperature value r4105[11] and p4103[11] (timer) in the drive diagnostics to identify sensor drift or intermittent spikes.

  6. 6

    6. Temporarily swap the TM150 module with a known good one to isolate if the module itself is faulty.
