APC ALARM: COMMUNICATION ERROR

Fanuc · Alpha i Series Servo Amplifier

What does SV0301 mean?

The absolute-position detector experienced a data transfer communication error, preventing the system from obtaining the correct machine position. This issue is typically caused by a defect in the absolute-position detector, its connecting cable, or the servo interface module.

Common Causes

  • Physical disconnection of the APC communication cable.
  • Data corruption during transmission from the APC.
  • Faulty APC encoder unit.
  • Incorrect serial communication settings (e.g., baud rate, parity).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the APC encoder cable for damage and ensure secure connection.

  2. 2

Verify communication parameters (e.g., P8-XX series) match APC specifications.

  3. 3

Measure signal integrity on APC communication lines.

  4. 4

Test APC encoder output signals if diagnostic tools are available.
