SV0303

APC ALARM: FRAMING ERROR

Fanuc · Alpha i Series Servo Amplifier

What does SV0303 mean?

A framing error occurred in the data transfer from the absolute-position detector, preventing the system from obtaining the correct machine position. This problem is indicative of a defect in the absolute-position detector, its cable, or the servo interface module.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect data framing from the APC encoder.
  • Data bit corruption during transmission.
  • Faulty APC encoder sending malformed data packets.
  • Interference on communication lines causing bit errors.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect APC encoder output for framing errors using an oscilloscope.

  2. 2

Ensure correct data format (e.g., start bits, stop bits) is configured.

  3. 3

Test APC encoder signal integrity for noise or distortion.

  4. 4

Check APC encoder firmware for updates.
