Open Circuit Detection Triggered Multiple Times
Fronius · Perfect Charging
What does 17 mean?
The charger has repeatedly detected an open circuit condition during a charge cycle, indicating poor or intermittent contact in the charging path. This suggests a physical wear or damage that intermittently interrupts the flow of charging current.
Common Causes
- Worn, corroded, or damaged charging contacts on either the battery plug, the charger connector, or within the battery's terminals.
- Loose electrical connections at the battery terminals or within the charging cable assembly.
- An intermittent break or high resistance point within the charging circuit wiring itself.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Inspect the charging contacts on both the charger's output connector and the battery's input plug for signs of wear, pitting, corrosion, or physical damage.
- 2
Verify the tightness and security of all electrical connections in the charging cable path, including connections to the battery terminals and within the charger housing.
- 3
Measure the continuity of the entire charging cable assembly, flexing the cable to identify any intermittent breaks.
