TagID CAN Communication Failed
Fronius · Perfect Charging
What does 203 mean?
CAN communication with the battery's TagID module could not be established. This prevents the charger from reading critical battery identification, configuration, and operational data, making proper charging impossible.
Common Causes
- A disconnected or physically damaged CAN bus cable connecting the charger to the TagID module.
- The TagID module itself is faulty, not powered, or its CAN interface has failed.
- Incorrect CAN bus settings such as baud rate, or improper termination resistors for the TagID connection.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the physical CAN bus cable connection to the TagID module for integrity and secure mating.
- 2
Check the TagID module for power presence and its operational status (e.g., indicator LEDs, if any).
- 3
Inspect CAN bus termination resistors and baud rate settings to ensure they are correctly configured for the network.
