TagID Data Write Failed

Fronius · Perfect Charging

What does 212 mean?

The charger was unable to write data to the TagID module. This prevents the charger from storing updated information or configuration settings (e.g., charge cycles, maintenance data) on the battery's identifier.

Common Causes

  • Read/write protection is enabled on the TagID module, preventing data modification.
  • Faulty memory (EEPROM or flash) within the TagID module, making write operations impossible.
  • A communication error occurred during the write operation, causing data transfer to fail.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the TagID module for any physical switches or software settings that might enable write-protection and disable them.

  2. 2

Verify the TagID's memory health using diagnostic tools to identify any defective memory sectors.

  3. 3

Inspect the CAN bus connection and wiring, then retry the data write operation.
