Battery Data Cannot Be Queried (CAN)
Fronius · Perfect Charging
What does 52 mean?
Although a CAN connection might be physically present, the charger is unable to successfully query or receive valid data packets from the battery. This indicates a problem with data integrity or protocol, preventing essential information exchange.
Common Causes
- Data corruption or errors occurring on the CAN bus, possibly due to electrical noise or signal integrity issues.
- Incorrect CAN bus communication protocol or baud rate settings between the charger and the battery's BMS.
- An internal fault within the battery's BMS or communication module that prevents it from correctly transmitting data.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the CAN bus wiring for proper shielding and grounding to minimize noise or interference.
- 2
Check the charger's and the battery's CAN communication settings, including baud rate and message IDs, to ensure they match.
- 3
Perform a soft reset on the battery's BMS, if such a function is available, to clear any temporary communication glitches.
