Battery Voltage Not Supported (CAN)
Fronius · Perfect Charging
What does 53 mean?
The battery's nominal voltage, as reported by its BMS via CAN communication, is not compatible with the charger's specifications or its current configuration. This mismatch prevents the charger from safely or effectively charging the battery.
Common Causes
- Connecting a battery with a nominal voltage that falls outside the charger's specified operating range.
- An incorrect battery nominal voltage setting in the charger's configuration parameters.
- Erroneous or corrupted voltage data transmitted by the battery's BMS.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the nominal voltage of the connected battery by checking its nameplate or specifications.
- 2
Check the charger's configuration settings to ensure the supported battery voltage range is correctly set.
- 3
Cross-reference the voltage reported by the battery's BMS via CAN with a direct multimeter measurement of the battery's actual voltage.
