447

Insulation fault

Fronius · Primo GEN24 Operating Instructions

What does 447 mean?

This code indicates a general insulation fault detected within the photovoltaic system or the inverter itself. An insulation fault means there's an unwanted electrical connection between an active conductor and ground, which is a critical safety issue, causing the inverter to stop feeding energy.

Common Causes

  • Damaged insulation on DC PV cables or connectors.
  • Moisture ingress into PV modules, junction boxes, or combiner boxes.
  • Insulation breakdown within the inverter components.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

If the status code is displayed continuously, notify a Fronius-trained service engineer for insulation testing.

  2. 2

Inspect all DC cabling and connectors for signs of damage, wear, or moisture ingress.

  3. 3

Measure insulation resistance of the PV strings to ground using a megger.
