Insulation fault
Fronius · Primo GEN24 Operating Instructions
What does 447 mean?
This code indicates a general insulation fault detected within the photovoltaic system or the inverter itself. An insulation fault means there's an unwanted electrical connection between an active conductor and ground, which is a critical safety issue, causing the inverter to stop feeding energy.
Common Causes
- Damaged insulation on DC PV cables or connectors.
- Moisture ingress into PV modules, junction boxes, or combiner boxes.
- Insulation breakdown within the inverter components.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
If the status code is displayed continuously, notify a Fronius-trained service engineer for insulation testing.
- 2
Inspect all DC cabling and connectors for signs of damage, wear, or moisture ingress.
- 3
Measure insulation resistance of the PV strings to ground using a megger.
