DC Voltage Range MPPT2

Fronius · Symo Advanced

What does 202 mean?

This status code indicates that the DC input voltage on Maximum Power Point Tracker 2 (MPPT2) of the Fronius Primo GEN24 208-240 inverter is outside its permitted operating range. This could be due to DC voltage being either too high or too low for the inverter to process, often pointing to issues within the solar module strings or the inverter itself.

Common Causes

  • DC input voltage from the solar module strings is too high, exceeding the inverter's maximum DC input limit for MPPT2.
  • DC input voltage from the solar module strings is too low, falling below the inverter's minimum operating voltage for MPPT2.
  • Incorrect configuration or malfunction of the solar module strings connected to MPPT2.
  • An internal defect within the inverter affecting the MPPT2 input stage.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the configuration of the solar module strings connected to MPPT2 for correct voltage and functionality.

  2. 2

Measure the open-circuit voltage (Voc) and short-circuit current (Isc) of the solar module strings at the inverter's DC input terminals for MPPT2.

  3. 3

Verify the actual DC input voltage at the inverter's DC input terminals for MPPT2 against the inverter's specified operating range.

  4. 4

De-energize the inverter (switch off AC and DC disconnects), wait for 5 minutes, then re-energize to reset. If the message persists, the inverter may require service.
