Power Stage Temperature
Fronius · Symo Advanced
What does 302 mean?
This status code indicates that the temperature of the inverter's power stage (e.g., IGBTs) is too high. This can be caused by an overload condition, insufficient cooling, high ambient temperatures, or a defect within the Fronius Primo GEN24 208-240 inverter's cooling system, potentially leading to thermal derating or shutdown.
Common Causes
- Overload condition on the inverter, drawing more power than its rated capacity.
- Blocked or obstructed air vents on the inverter, impeding proper airflow to the power stage.
- Ambient temperature at the inverter's installation location is excessively high.
- Insufficient clearance around the inverter, preventing adequate heat dissipation from the power stage.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
If possible, reduce the load on the inverter to decrease the internal heat generation.
- 2
Inspect the inverter's air vents for any blockages, dust accumulation, or debris and clean them if necessary.
- 3
Measure the ambient temperature at the inverter's location and ensure it is within the specified operating limits.
- 4
Verify that there is sufficient clearance (as per manual specifications) around the inverter to allow for proper airflow and cooling.
- 5
De-energize the inverter (switch off AC and DC disconnects), wait for 5 minutes, then re-energize to reset. If the message persists, the inverter may require service.
