Power Failure
Kone · Electric Traction Elevators
What does 72 mean?
The KONE LCE W/KDM elevator system has experienced a loss of its primary power supply. The elevator is now operating on a backup power source (e.g., Emergency Rescue Device (ERD) or battery) or performing a controlled shutdown for passenger evacuation.
Common Causes
- Interruption of the main incoming AC power supply to the elevator control panel.
- Tripped circuit breaker (e.g., F3 on page 2) or blown fuse within the elevator's power distribution.
- Failure of the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) or emergency power system components.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Direct passengers to safely exit the elevator car once the doors open at the evacuation floor.
- 2
Check the status of the main power supply to the LCE W/KDM control panel and verify associated circuit breakers (e.g., Mainline Disconnect Switch, Lighting Supply Disconnect Switch 115V/15A on page 6) are engaged.
- 3
Measure incoming AC line voltage at the control panel to confirm power presence and stability.
- 4
Inspect the F3 fuse (0.65A) on the 366: FSP RS485 REPEATER board (page 2) for continuity.
