1074

DRIVER SHORTED

Kone · Elevator Control

What does 1074 mean?

The motor controller (codes 1074, 2074, 3074) has detected a short circuit in a driver output stage. This typically indicates a fault in the power output section controlling a motor phase or internal component. The specific lift reaction is controller dependent.

Common Causes

  • Short circuit on motor phase wiring (e.g., phase-to-phase, phase-to-ground).
  • Motor winding insulation breakdown.
  • Internal fault in the controller's power transistors (e.g., IGBT/MOSFETs).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect motor power cables for visible damage, chafing, or insulation breakdown from the controller to the motor.

  2. 2

Verify secure connections of motor power cables at both the motor controller output terminals and the motor terminal block.

  3. 3

Measure the insulation resistance of each motor phase winding to ground and between phases using an insulation tester.

  4. 4

Measure the resistance of each motor phase winding (U-V, V-W, W-U) with a multimeter and compare values for consistency.
