F021

Load short circuit

Schindler · Easy Altivar ATV310 Drive

What does F021 mean?

This ATV310 fault detects a short-circuit condition at the drive's output, impacting the motor or cabling. It can be triggered either at the run command or during a DC injection command, especially if parameter 608 (IGBT Test) is set to 01.

Common Causes

  • Short-circuit at the drive output terminals (U, V, W)
  • Short circuit detected at the run command or during DC injection command if parameter 608 (IGBT Test) is set to 01

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Disconnect the motor from the ATV310 drive's output terminals.

  2. 2

Check the cables connecting the drive to the motor for any short circuits (phase-to-phase or phase-to-ground) using a multimeter.

  3. 3

Test the motor winding insulation resistance with a megohmmeter (megger) to ensure there are no ground faults or inter-phase shorts.

  4. 4

Verify parameter 608 (IGBT Test) setting; if set to 01, ensure the motor and cabling are correctly installed and checked before attempting to run.
